1. The Oak Inn, Lyndhurst
Best for: Traditional Pub atmosphere and menu
The Oak Inn is the perfect place for those looking for a traditional but cosy pub experience, with delicious dining options for both lunch and dinner. The menu is designed to be traditional but with a modern twist, with the ingredients all being sourced from within the local area. This is a great stop off for those looking for a traditional Sunday Roast option after a busy day exploring the New Forest.
2. The White Buck, Burley
Best for: Dog-friendly, warm atmosphere
This ancient house has been around since the 20th century, but it wasn’t until the 1960s that this pub was brought to life! It has since become a local hotspot for music as well as the delicious food. This homely pub is perfect for enjoying a local ale, beer or even glass of wine after a long day exploring the local scenery. Located at the centre of a beautiful little village a visit here also provides great access to explore the local area at the same time.

3. Fleur de lys, Lymington
Best for: history, intimate dining
The Fleur de Lys also known as ‘The grand old lady of the forest’ is the New Forest’s oldest pub having first started serving drinks in 1096! The traditional thatched roof and interior design give the pub a cosy, intimate feeling; perfect for enjoying a meal or drink with a loved one.
4. The Chequers Inn, Lymington
Best for: walkers, dogs
Perfectly placed for those wanting to explore the ancient maritime pathway, the Chequers Inn falls right on the common walking route just outside of Lymington. They offer a range of different food options on their menu including those suitable for vegetarians and vegans. They also specialise in a wide variety of real ales; perfect after a long walk.
5. Red Shoot Inn, Linwood
Best for: traditional lunchtime options, real ales
Right in the centre of the national park you can find the Red Shoot Inn, with a friendly atmosphere and a range of traditional lunchtime options such as the delicious beer battered fish and chips this pub is sure to not disappoint. 6. The Royal Oak, Frintham
Best for: traditional pub atmosphere and dining
The Royal Oak in Frintham is one of the cosiest pubs in the New Forest, with delicious traditional country dishes as well as locally produced ales and cider. I recommend testing out the unusual chutneys and cheeses such as the garlic and nettle with your meal!
7. The Ferryman, Lymington
Best for: delicious dining/food choices
The Ferryman may be New Forest’s most accessible pub with visitors arriving by foot, car, train, and boat to dine here! This pub is all about the food; with the menu changing seasonally and dependent on local produce; the only certainty you can expect is a delicious meal!
8. The Drift Inn, Beaulieu
Best for: Morning trip, relaxed service
The Drift Inn and restaurant is the perfect pub for those looking for a relaxed and comfortable lunch option or snack! This rustic pub in the heart of the New Forest is a fab pit stop after a long day of exploring. They even do a great breakfast service as well! Defo one of the Best Pubs in the New Forest.

10. The Forester’s arms, Frogham
Best for: Outdoor dining, traditional lunches
The Forester’s arms known affectionately as the donkey pub by locals (due to the sweet equines you might see on your way in) is a great little spot for a delicious lunch or supper. They have a delicious range of sandwiches as well as traditional pub options for a tasty and filling lunch; just make sure you leave enough room for one of their desserts as well!
10. The Pig, Hampshire
Best for: delicious dining and local produce
The Pig may be my favourite pub in the New Forest! This great pub and restaurant serve delicious meals, with most of the ingredients being grown on site by their in house gardening team. They serve a great range of dishes, with something for everyone on the menu. One of my favourite Pubs in the New Forest.
