From excel spreadsheets, to venue visits, and wedding dresses to choosing my wedding invitations and stationery supplier with Atelier Rosemood, I have found the wedding planning journey incredibly stress-free.
I have taken the whole thing in my stride, and loved every moment. I have loved saving decor themes to Pinterest, ordering my wedding invitations with Atelier Rosemood, wedding dress shopping, and I have even enjoyed the guests list experience.
Make sure you read my engagement blog post from January to read all about the proposal, but also keep an eye on more posts like this one called THE WEDDING DIARIES, if you are engaged or getting married soon.
I will be documenting my entire journey throughout this mad process, from the engagement right up the honeymoon. And this blog post is all about timelines and checklists. I love myself a good checklist, and therefore I have been using this to keep organised.
Check out my other blog post on choosing my wedding stationery with Atelier Rosemood, including my wedding invitations, save the dates and on the day stationery.

Ultimate Wedding Planning Checklist
YOU ARE ENGAGED!
The ring is on your finger and you are ready to get planning this wedding! With so many tasks to take care of and details to arrange, planning a wedding can seem overwhelming. But, if you give yourself enough time to plan and sort the tasks month by month with this ultimate wedding-planning checklist and wedding timeline, you’ll find pleasure and joy in planning your own wedding.
The ideal engagement length, I believe is between 16-18 months, as it gives you more time and space to plan your wedding. I would also recommend this length of time simply due to venue availability. The venue we chose was fully booked within 16 months of the date we chose, and we grabbed their last availability in September. So if you’ve got a venue in mind, I would plan as far ahead of possible, and be aware it might not be available.
Top 10 things to do
- Book your venue
- Get your dress
- Choose your wedding stationery with Atelier Rosemood
- Arrange music / DJ
- Book your celebrant or church
- Stick to your budget
- Book your photographer and videographer
- Book hair and make up
- Agree on vows
- Arrange the florist
