Just a few miles from Robin Hood’s infamous Major Oak hideout, this Nottinghamshire gem is a legend in its own right. We visited GoApe at Sherwood Pines last month on a weekend away with family – we all love being outdoors and adventure so decided to spend one afternoon swinging from the trees.
Sherwood Pines location features a trio of outdoor activities including their famous Tree Top Adventure, the shining star of high ropes in the UK. I bought along my tribe for the afternoon and we all got buckled up, ready to conquer the treetop course in style.

Having done a few of the GoApe courses now, I have to say Sherwood was my favourite, with both easy and difficult sections. The course has five sections to the course, involving both zip wires, Tarzan swings, rope ladders and more.
It’s a mix of obstacles, all designed to challenge and thrill adventure-seekers and is also home to one of their unique dual high ropes paths, which includes a tandem Zip Wire on the last site (5) for you to share that wind-in-your-face experience with your fellow monkey.
The longest zip-line is 140 metres, the highest platform is 9 metres high, the longest crossing is 19 metres and a total length of the entire course is 909 metres! The Sherwood Pines course also features a Net Bridge, Twister and Full Trapeze for you to climb, clamber and conquer! It really does have it all…
