My Favourite Hotel Stays of 2017

In 2017 I have been lucky enough to stay in some wonderful hotels all around the world. Whether that has been exploring country estates in The Cotswolds, or staying in a family-run hotel in Verona, all of these hotels have added that little extra to my stay!

Some traditional, some modern, some with exceptional staff and others with winning menus! Here I have listed my top 10 hotels from the year, and those that I would recommend to you guys too…

Port Lympne’ s Rhino Lodge, Kent

This weekend me and Theo took his daughter to experience a safari weekender at the wonderful Port Lympne Reserve. We visited for a whole weekend in order to get the most of our time exploring their 600 acres, and hundreds of animals. Port Lympne Reserve are a conservation charity dedicated to protecting wildlife, who also work alongside The Aspinall Foundation, as they aim to introduce animals back to the wild. Log House Holidays, The Cotswolds

Last month I visited Log House Holidays with a few of my favourite blogging ladies including Ellie from The Wandering Quinn, Kara from Heels in my Backpack, Sam from Yokomeshi and Liv from Liv on a Shoestring! We had been meaning to go away together for ages, and when this place appeared on our radar, we knew it was the perfect retreat for a weekend away from the chaos of London. Log House Holidays is a family run 130 acre nature reserve in the Cotswolds, offering something unique to visitors to The Cotswolds; a small oasis where you can escape the pressures of daily life in your own Scandinavian style log cabin. Rudding Park Hotel & Spa, Harrogate

Set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, Rudding Park is one of the most beautiful privately owned luxury hotels. The hotel has 90 bedrooms, two restaurants and a kitchen garden, private cinema, two golf courses and conference, and added to the plethora is a £9.5 million spa, with rooftop spa, spa garden, and leisure facilities. Located only a few miles from Harrogate, and 20 miles from Leeds, Rudding Park is well-connected. Read my full review here.

Old Swan & Minster Mill, Oxfordshire

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels over the years, but something about the Old Swan & Minster Mill has stuck with me. It made me feel all warm inside, like I had arrived back at home, and for that, I will keep this review brief.. as I believe that says it all. Romantically set in 65 acres of woodland and orchards, The Old Swan & Minster Mill is over 600 years old and located only 14 miles from Oxford. Read the full review here.

Yays Concierged Boutique Apartments, Amsterdam

The best way to get to know a city is not to visit it, but to live it. With Yays, you’re staying in boutique apartments in the most characteristic neighbourhoods, surrounded by shops and restaurants you won’t find in any of the tourist guides. Stay with us and before you know it, you’ll be dishing out insider tips to the locals.Tucked away to the northwest of Central Station lies Yays’ Zoutkeetsgracht location which now offers 31 apartments – around the corner from lively Westerpark – is no exception, except that it’s exceptionally amazing of course. Hotel Trieste, Verona

At the end of beginning of March I returned from a trip away in the beautiful city of Verona. Hotel Trieste is a 3-star (I think more!) designer hotel with an eclectic style. The hotel was a wonderful hotel, with a subtle outside, leading into a reception area full of colour, life and vibrance. The hotel has hand-picked design interiors and regularly updated installations by local artists making it a piece of art in it’s own right. Read my full review here.

Barnsley House Hotel & Spa, The Cotswolds

Last weekend, to celebrate Theo’s 25th birthday, we ventured out into The Cotswolds for a country retreat. Set in an 11 acres of grounds, Barnsley House, near Cirencester is the perfect haven for a weekend of relaxing in style. The Cotswolds has always been one of my favourite places, the rolling hills, access to countryside and how you can feel at one with nature. Read my full review here.

Carey’s Manor, New Forest

Last week, along with my boyfriend Theo, I drove to the heart of the New Forest to spend the night at Careys Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst, a beautiful manor house surrounded by a mature garden and extensive grounds. I had been invited on an overnight spa break and I couldn’t wait for some time out as this was our first night away from the new house since we moved in. Read my full review here.

Skiathos Princess Hotel, Skiathos

In June I visited the wonderful island of Skiathos, only a three hour flight from the UK, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I stayed at the wonderful Skiathos Princess Hotel first and you can read my review here, before heading off for a few nights at the equally as decadent Marpunta Village Hotel in Alonissos only a small boat trip away. The hotel is a stunning paradise, isolated from the world, where relaxation is key and looking after number one is top priority. Read my full review here.

Hotel Banke, Paris

Located in the very heart of Paris, Hotel Banke is a hotel that excites and enthralls, giving you access to this beautiful city, and the space to relax, recoup and discover Paris at your own pace. It was the perfect hotel for my 48 hours in Paris the other week with my best friend Katie, and we felt like we were queens during our two night stay here. Read my full review here.
