I bloody love autumn and the moment I had a chance to put away the shorts, floaty dresses and skirts, they were packaged and folded ready to hibernate for the winter. I love the whole feel of autumn; the sound of leaves beneath your feet, the smell of a roaring fire and the flickering of a bonfire. This bonfire I plan on going to a great fireworks night close to my home and I cannot wait to don the gloves, hat and scarf whilst holding a sparkler.

London is a great place to see fireworks this autumn and I have listed a few of the best below… Get the hot chocolate ready and watch the coloured lights as they fire in to the sky over your head. You just can’t get better than a good ol’ fireworks night!
Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival
The lofty palace is a famous spot for illuminating the skies of north London every year. As well as impressive firework displays with a glittering panoramic view of the city as its backdrop, tickets include entrance to a family zone with funfair rides and entertainment, an adult funfair and a street food and craft beer village. Check back nearer the time for more details. 3-4 November
Wimbledon Park Fireworks
The Wimbledon Park fireworks involve bonfires and two displays, the first of which is suitable for young children, followed by a more elaborate adult display, again beginning with a bonfire. Expect fairground rides and food stalls to make an appearance and check the website from October to book tickets. 4 November
Crystal Palace Park Firework Display
One of the city’s longest-running fireworks displays, the annual Crystal Palace Park Firework Display brings thousands to the South London park that’s also famed for its dinosaurs. Expect plenty of family fun, including a children’s firework display, food, and children’s activities at this alcohol-free event. 5 November
Battersea Park Fireworks
Only the organised may take in the fireworks from Battersea Park, as tickets must be bought in advance (and usually go on sale in early autumn). Those who do manage to do some forward-planning will be rewarded with a display that’s choreographed to a musical soundtrack, plus a bar, food stalls and concessions selling glow products to make everything even more colourful. 4 November
Lambeth Fireworks
The Lambeth Fireworks display is back in Brockwell Park this year for a movie-themed firework blockbuster. ‘A Night at the Movies’ will feature a bonfire, a funfair, bars and plenty of entertainment from local performers. There will also be twenty food stalls, including the likes of Porky’s, Mac to the Future and 28 Well Hung. Not forgetting the 20-minute the firework display itself, which will feature pyrotechnics set to the backdrop of movie soundtracks. 4th November
Victoria Park
For a couple of years now, Vicky Park has hosted Bonfire Night fireworks that draw crowds of east Londoners to watch the skies as they light up with a whizzing, banging, sparkling display over Hackney. The event has always been free in the past and there should be stalls selling food, mulled wine and other refreshments. Check back soon for more details. 4 November
Richmond Fireworks
The Richmond annual family fireworks take place at Richmond Athletics Ground with a display composed to music, plus a funfair, live music, food and drink stalls and more. More details to follow. Usually £8/£5, book in advance. 5 November
