This Mother’s Day I am writing a love note to my amazing mum.
The world moves at such a fast pace these days and we often forget to put the phones down, turn off and spend quality time with those who mean the most to us. This is also as important, due to our schedules, and our busy lives.
I myself know how much I can forget to ‘check-in’ from time to time, and have found in the past feeling distant from those in my life.
But with Mother’s Day approaching, I am taking the time to write a letter to my beloved mother for everything she has done for me over the years.
You are my absolute world. You are my best friend, my confidant, my therapist and best of all, you’re my mum. You have always been there for me no matter what, and no matter what trouble I have gotten myself into over the years you have always been supportive.
When I was a teenager we clashed a lot, but this was only because we are so similar in our personalities. I am you, and you are me.
You are the one person in my life I trust completely and wholly, and you are the one person I turn to when I have news or need comfort.
Thank you, mum, for your constant support and belief in me. Your words of encouragement inspired me to work hard and achieve what seemed to be impossible.
You support me, love me, and understand me better than anyone else in the world. You see my weaknesses, my flaws, my strengths, my being, and you accept me for who I am, you support everything I do.
I am glad that we have a strong friendship between us. You are like the best friend I never knew I needed. I can talk and discuss anything with you.
I love the smells of home, of home-cooked food, of coffee, or your favourite perfume. It reminds me I am home whenever I am with you.
Mum, you are the greatest, you are the best mother I could have ever asked for. I can’t wait to spend even more years together, whether it’s at home over the festive period or travelling around the world visiting spa retreats (because everyone knows how much we love a good spa day together!).
Thank you for being you, for being honest, and for being there. It means more than you ever know, knowing I have you. I love you mum. Happy Mother’s Day.
I’d love to know from you, is there a certain scent or perfume that reminds you of your mum?
Scents are such an underrated memory, it reminds us of good times and the bad. And it reminds us of those we love. No matter where we are in the world a scent can take us back to a moment and it’s so important to create memories.
The perfume my mum wears reminds me of her every time I smell it and I think gifting your mum perfume this Mother’s Day is the perfect way to show her your love. Check out the latest women’s perfume from Boots.

Picking travel insurance that covers you in all eventualities is an essential part of planning a trip for every single person. If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel.
