REVIEW: Turtle Bay, Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Blogger Network Meet-Up: March 2017

Last week I went out for a lovely dinner with the girls from Milton Keynes Blogger Network again for our quarterly catch up somewhere in Milton Keynes. This time we opted for Turtle Bay in The Hub, somewhere I had been previously for drinks but hadn’t eaten at before. Let’s just say this – I was not disappointed!

I don’t know why I hadn’t eaten here before – I love Caribbean food, I love spice, I love trying different cuisines. But for some reason I had only ventured here previously for the 2-4-1 cocktails on a Friday night after work.

Last week I met up with Kara from Heels in my Backpack, Jo from Girl Eats World, Sophie from As Told By Sophie, Hazel from Hazebeaulie and Emma from Essays and Wine for a post-work catch-up mid-week and we headed straight from work.

I opted for the Jerk Chicken Wings to start, which were incredible, hot but incredible. They had been marinated in spice for 24 hours and then grilled, served with a choice of coconut jerk glaze or our classic jerk glaze & sour orange chutney. The sauce they used on them had so many flavours and even if they did leave my mouth a little on fire, I didn’t mind so much as the flavour was good! Some of the other girls opted for some dishes I need to try next time I visit.

I then had the Street Burger; a pure beef burger, topped with pulled jerk pork & lettuce on a sweet bun, served with sweet onion chutney, herb mayo & Caribbean slaw. It was just what I needed after a long day at work and again, the flavours were amazing!

After we had finished dinner we grabbed a few cocktails, and had a good old natter!

*Thank you Turtle Bay for hosting our dinner! I was super impressed and will be back again!
