When I first started blogging over four years ago I had never realised the impact that it would have on my life. I never realised that blogging would ultimately be my life saver and open up such a new world of possibilities from experiences to friendships.
I have gone to an array of events over the years that have been set up for bloggers to meet other people and swap tips and tricks but when I moved to Milton Keynes at Christmas I realised there wasn’t anything around the area. Fed up with expensive trains to London and late midweek blogger events I decided to set up a group in Milton Keynes!
Last weekend I organised the first ever Milton Keynes Blogger meet up at The Swan in Salford. The event was the first of its kind the area and caught a lot of attention from the many of bloggers in the area. So many in fact we had to keep the event limited due to table numbers!
After an early start, a group of us blogging about all different kinds of subjects met up at The Swan in Salford for a Saturday morning breakfast with champagne and yummy food. They put a lovely brunch together for us and I had a tasty bacon on eggs on toast which was divine and matched with a champagne and Earl Grey tea I was a happy woman.
It was great to talk to other bloggers about our individual blogs, top tips, logistics, working a full time job and blogging, and everything in between. No matter what our style, our blog or genre blogging is a universal code for friendship and I am super lucky to have some incredible friends that I have met from events just like this one.
All the bloggers also went home with a goody bag which included vouchers and discount codes from Alyson at The Beauty Box, a free Bogota Coffee, a Food Revolution tea towel, £15 pub voucher, bottle of Muddle & Mash and Etsy-inspired stationary from Emma Lethbridge.
It was really good to meet more local bloggers, especially ones from other genres and I cannot wait to spend time with these lovely bloggers again sometime soon! I have already started thinking about the next one….
