WHAT YOU’VE MISSED ON SOPHIE’S SUITCASE THIS MONTH
Launch of Sky Princess with Princess Cruises
In October I headed on another amazing trip with the team at Princess Cruises for the launch of their brand new ship Sky Princess. We flew in to Trieste in Italy, before heading out of port on a five day cruise around the Mediterranean stopping at both Kotor in Montenegro and Athens in Greece. The launch of Sky Princess was amazing with a launch party in the evening of our first day, lots of dancing and celebrating for both passengers and staff. We had two days at sea too, which meant we could really explore this amazing ship, from top to bottom, exploring the various restaurants, cafes and bars onboard, go and see a show or two at the theatre, head for a game of basketball on top deck, and even getting a massage in the middle of the ocean. I have a lot of content coming your way from this trip next week, so stay tuned, subscribe to my YouTube channel for the vlogs and watch out on here for a Sky Princess Cruise Ship Tour and more information on cruising. —> READ MORE
We took a Road Trip down to Cornwall
Cornwall is the ultimate UK summer staycation with its mild climate, breathtaking scenery and long stretches of sandy beaches. Located on the southwestern tip of the United Kingdom, it offers tourists moorlands, beaches, cliff faces, great cuisine and much more. The county of Cornwall culminates at the promontory Land’s End, with views out to the Atlantic Ocean. The south coast is often dubbed the Cornish Riviera, due to it’s temperate weather, longer summers and picturesque harbour villages. Surfing is at the top of everyone’s to do list during a weekend in Cornwall and the hundreds of beaches dotted around the coast of Cornwall give surfers lots of choice.
Cornwall is the best place to visit this summer, whether you are a family, couple or a group of girls heading away for a long weekend away in Cornwall. Some of the best places in Cornwall to go and see include St Austell, Mevagissey, upmarket riverside town of Fowey, St Ives Bay, popular Newquay, enchanting fishing villages and harbours; Port Isaac, Portreath and Mousehole as well as beach towns Perranporth, Porthcurno and Polzeath. There’s also famous Padstow and university town Falmouth, as well as Truro, the only city in Cornwall where the cathedral still dominates the skyline. Head further down the coast and you reach Penzance, one of the largest towns in Cornwall, the busy fishing port of Newlyn, and you can even take a day trip out to the Isles of Scilly. —> READ MORE
How to Make Money and Save for Travel
Travel is my life, it’s what I live for, save for and dream about. The experience of meeting new people, immersing yourself in new cultures, and eating a great deal of food from all over the world, is all part of the adventure. This year may nearly be over, so it’s the perfect time to start planning the backpacking trip you always dreamed about. You may still decide to jet off to the far flung countries of South America and experience dance classes, red wine and steak, go to the Greek islands for sun, sea and sand, or head east and check out everything South East Asia has to offer, including the amazing Thai food, temples and tuk tuks. —> READ MORE
A weekend in York with Jorvik
Last month me and Sandy visited York and headed to visit the wonderful team at Jorvik Tricycles. The lovely owner James showed us around the showroom, explained why he set up the business and even let us go out and experience riding the trikes ourselves. Jorvik Tricycles produce an array of trikes, including Classic Tricycles, Electric Tricycles, Mountain Trikes and Ex-Display Tricycles. They range from electric tricycles designed for long commutes, to folding travel trikes for the more petite rider. Whether you never learned to ride a bike or you want an easy way back into cycling, they have a model for you. And if you are still unsure you can visit their showroom for a test ride!
When we visited I tried out the Jorvik Lightweight Adult Tricycle and loved the ease of use, how stylish it was and it was my favourite colour black. This trike is a joy to use, as the Lightweight Adult Tricycle is the easiest way to get back into cycling. The tried and tested three-wheel design gives you the confidence to adventure at a pace that suits you. The full front suspension system soak up bumps in the road, while the rigid front and rear baskets keep your possessions firmly in place. For dog owners, bring them along for the ride with an attachable basket. —-> READ MORE
