Monthly Favourites – December #20

WHAT A YEAR! It’s nearly Christmas! The last month I have been working my ass off getting the year wrapped up ready for 2019; I had my second CIM exam at the start of the month, I visited Christmas markets in London and Buckinghamshire, I visited my favourite European city Amsterdam with Theo, I headed to York with my best friend for a festive weekend away, and I started planning my annual leave for 2019. I’ve got some exciting plans in the pipeline for 2019 including a week long trip to Switzerland, Traverse in Italy, Rome with Theo, Cyprus for our annual family holiday and skiing with Ski Total in January! What are your plans for 2019? Tweet me – I’d love to know! Here are my monthly favourites from December…..

Christmas in York – After my CIM exam was done, I headed up to York for a weekend of festive fun with my best friend Katie! We stayed at Staycity York, and spent the weekend exploring The Shambles, the Christmas markets, and eating and drinking lots of mulled wine and crepes! We had such a lovely weekend and all my posts from that trip are now live! READ POST

Maximise annual leave in 2019 – Grab life by the horns and start ticking off those bucket list experiences. And there’s no need to quit the job, pack up your life and head to the hills. You can still travel all year round, and see those incredible places around the world, with a full-time 9-5 job. Even with only 26 days’ annual leave you can actually double your leave in 2019 using these simple organisational planning tricks. READ POST

Brunchin’ in London – Brunch in London has become a weekend tradition for many over the years, both as a way to socialise and catch up with friends, but also to make the most of late morning rising, and grabbing a hearty breakfast. And in Brunch in London is now an institution, with thousands upon thousands of London dwellers heading to their favourite spots all across the city, for a avocado on toast, or a bloody mary. Whether you’re after traditional brunch, something a little different, or a bottomless kind, here are my favourite 10 places to brunch in London. READ POST

Blenheim Palace with the girls – I love making traditions and I started a new one this year with my best friends Katie, Grace and Amy! We decided to go to Blenheim Palace together to experience the light trail around the grounds. We drank even more mulled wine, after churros and bought some treats from the Christmas market. This time again next year please….

Festive outfits for the NYE – The festive period is when fashion really comes into its own, with so many events throughout November and December, it seems we need a whole new wardrobe! You’ve got Christmas shopping, work parties, cosy nights at the pub, Boxing Day chic and Christmas Day comfort. However, fear not, you can style existing items in your wardrobe with new festive pieces to pull together an array of outfits which will see you through till New Year. READ POST

Budget-friendly destinations to visit in 2019 – One of the most asked questions I get on a daily basis is “how do you afford to travel so much?” and the answer isn’t as simple as it first seems. I am not rich, not do I have a rich family, nor do I own my own business so I travel a lot for work. I simply plan my trips excruciatingly painful, so that they are the cheapest they can be, but provide me with incredible experiences. One of the biggest misconceptions people have when thinking about travel is that it is going to cost a fortune, but it really isn’t true. Travel can be cheap – and with flights from £2.99 via RyanAir it’s no surprise more and more people ar jetting off up to five times a year. READ POST

NYE in Jersey – There will be lots of more posts coming about this trip, as we ended 2018 in Jersey! Me and Theo took a flight to Jersey on 30 December for a long weekend exploring this lesser known British island. We hired a car, explored the island, ate some incredible food, went cycling, walked along the beach and saw the New Year in in style…. Stay tuned for more posts about my trip!
