Monthly Favourites – October #18

I literally can’t tell you where 2019 has gone… one minute I was celebrating New Year at home with my step-daughter, watching the fireworks on the television, and the next minute it’s November… October was a month of events and catching up; I headed to London at the beginning of the month for an event with Grenada Tourism, then I caught up with my best friend Harriet, I headed to listen to Dolly Alderton at the Warwick Arts Centre and I even headed for dinner at the newly opened Black Horse in Great Linford. What are your plans for November? Tweet me – I’d love to know!

Staying fuelled in winter with The Honestly Good Smoothie Company

My favourite product this month has been frozen deliveries from the wonderful team at The Honestly Good Smoothie Co. It was founded by Vikesh Kotecha and his mum Neeta, and because Vikesh was suffering from some digestive issues, it was recommended that he try smoothies. He found that they had a hugely positive effect on his health and energy levels so decided to set up the company. The Honestly Good Smoothie Co’s recipes are expertly formulated by a chef (Blake Bowden), and a nutritionist, with balance and sustainability as their top priorities. Forget the predictable ‘apple and banana’ smoothies – Honestly Good smoothies incorporate all sorts of weird and wonderful fruit, veg, nuts, herbs, seeds & superfoods that you might not usually see in a smoothie, such as cauliflower, sumac, maca root powder, baobab, cacao nibs, broccoli, kelp powder, hemp protein, tofu, dried mulberries, and sweet potato. I recently tried a selection of their smoothies including The South American One, Green Clean Protein and The Smoothie Spice. I will post a full review in a few weeks…

Wanderlust inducing evening with Grenada Influencer Event

At the beginning of the month I headed in to London for an evening event with the lovely team at Visit Grenada! They treated us to an evening at Clerkenwell & Social, with rum, chocolate and much more. I also caught up with the girls from the cruise here, and we chatted away for hours about our trip and what’s up next.

Tour around the Med with Princess Cruises – Last month I was invited to join Crown Princess for a cruise in the mediterranean on their 7-night tour including stops at Barcelona, Marseille, Gibraltar, Genoa and Pisa. The main draw for me going on the trip was the destinations, and how effortless it was going to be visiting five cities in six days. I loved waking up in a new country everyday! I’ve also been catching up with all my content from my September trip to the Mediterranean with Princess Cruises and finally got my vlog live! Head over to my YouTube channel and subscribe so you get notified when even more travel vlogs go live… READ ALL CRUISE POSTS

Feeling festive with Pandora

Another trip to London, took me to Covent Garden to the Ivy Market Grill for a festive evening with PANDORA. The evening was lovely, as we were all seated around a large dining room table, with all the bits we needed to make our very own Gingerbread House. We were provided with the initial elements (walls and icing), before letting our creativity run wild with coloured icing, silver balls, trinkets, sprinkles and much more. I bumped in to my fellow Milton Keynes blogger Jasmine at the train station in Milton Keynes, and we ended up being seated next to each other too! It was such a lovely evening and as we were leaving the lovely PANDORA team gave up some treats from the PANDORA festive jewellery range. I will be wearing these at Christmas!

An evening at The Black Horse in Great Linford

On a dark autumnal evening in October, me and Theo headed down to reopening of The Black Horse at Great Linford. I was invited along to The Black Horse at Great Linford for their opening night, to sample their new seasonal menu and to see the refurb in its entirety before they properly opened on October 13th to the public. From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly looked after; we were welcomed on arrival by the lovely bar staff, who asked for our preference (of course G&T for us!) and we were then shown to their flavouring station, where you could add your own garnish. I opted for juniper berries, grapefruit peel and rose petals! READ FULL POST

Idolising Dolly Alderton at Warwick Arts Centre

A birthday present from July, I had waited a long time to finally see one of my idols, Dolly Alderton. We journeyed over the Warwick Arts Centre near Coventry to see her and her best friend Lauren speak for a few hours about their childhood, teen years, funny anecdotes and everything in between. Most importantly she spoke about love, and her experiences of love, both with men, friends and family. It made me really appreciate my friendships with the girls in my life and how important friendship is to a fulfilling and happy life.

Hosting another MK Bloggers Event at Whitespace Yoga

I held another of my Milton Keynes Blogger Network events here one weekend, and eight lovely ladies came down to find their zen. Nestled in St Paul’s Court in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes is Whitespace Studio – a beautiful yoga studio, full of yoga classes of every form. We had an afternoon of yoga and meditation, alongside some treats from Peel Juice Bar. Deborah Berryman, the founder of Whitespace Studio, had a vision to create a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental space for everyone regardless of age, gender, size and fitness, in which they can carry out mind and body practices – I wholeheartedly believe they have succeeded in doing so.

Eating all the Jamaican food at The Rum Kitchen

There really can’t be a better way to spend a rainy Autumnal Sunday afternoon than at Notting Hill’s most colourful venue The Rum Kitchen as part of the London Restaurant Festival 2018. It’s the sort of place I’d have expected to find on a beach along the beaches of Saint Lucia, but instead they’ve made their home on All Saints Road, Notting Hill. READ FULL POST
