Beyonce and Jay-Z On The Run II with Debenhams

Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to Beyonce and Jay-Z’S On The Run ll Tour with the lovely ladies from Debenhams and what a night it was…

I’ve now seen Beyonce three times, and every time I am blown away by her utter passion and confidence. I spent the evening with a group of fellow bloggers and the team from Debenhams in the Royal East Lounge at London Stadium (otherwise known at the Olympic Stadium) over in Stratford, where we were treated to a wonderful selection of drinks and a meal in the lounge seating area before the show, which also had exceptional views across the venue.

Beyonce and Jay Z last toured together in 2014 for the first “On the Run” tour, supporting her self-titled 2013 album and Jay’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” Jay joined Beyonce onstage in New Jersey for the final date of her “Lemonade” tour in September 2016.  The pair also recently released a video for “Family Feud,” their collaboration from Jay’s latest album, “4:44,” and at I write this blog post, Eppie, another blogger that was there on the night whatsapp’d us all to say that the pair also just dropped their first joint album together – Everything is Love. I am yet to listen but I already know it’s going to be amazing…

During the On The Run ll show at London Stadium Beyoncé and Jay-Z performed together and individually, interchanging through a show which included 40 tracks and lasted more than 2hr 30min. It was a real mammoth of a show, but even though lengthy, they kept up singing and dancing throughout the entire 250 minutes. They of course sang the likes of Crazy in Love, ’03 Bonnie & Clyde and Part II (On The Run) performed as a duo – plus some surprises thrown in for good measure, including her classics Pretty Hurts, Halo, Crazy in Love, Formation and 711. Jay-Z performed 99 Problems and an array of his best-known tracks, as well as some of the new tracks from his 4:44 album.

For the evening I wore a beautiful Little Black Dress from Debenhams, paired with some silver heels from New Look and my trusty burgundy shoulder bag from Primark. Debenhams kindly asked us to choose product ahead of the show so we could feel and look our absolute best whilst watching Queen Bey! The dress was a lovely shift dress with embellished beading designed in-house by the Studio 8 team, finished with semi-sheer sleeves and a short exposed back zip.

After an amazing night I stumbled home back to Milton Keynes, still singing Sorry in our heads. And now I am patiently waiting till they go on tour again…
