Spa retreat at Eden Hall with my best friend

At the beginning of the month I treated my longest friend Harriet to a spa day at Eden Hall in Nottinghamshire. My friend Sophie had recommended Eden Hall a while back, telling it was even better than another spa I love and she was right, it was stunning!

Set within acres of luscious lawns this beautiful listed mansion, built in 1875 is an absolute sanctuary. Whether you want to refresh and revive or unwind and relax, the first class facilities make sure all of your needs are met and it is the perfect, peaceful getaway. Eden Hall is a great place to sit back, relax and have some well-needed chill-out time in tranquil surroundings.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, from the check-in to being taken on a quick tour of the grounds so we knew where to find everything.

We had both booked in for a standard Eden Hall spa day with a treatment each, including full use of the salt-water vitality pool, water therapies, heated rooms, gymnasium, exercise and relaxation classes, a delicious three-course lunch and use of a fluffy white robe and towels. The Eden packages are designed to suit your every need, whether it’s de-stressing, relaxing, indulging or pampering – all you have to do is decide!

As part of my package I had included a 55-minute treatment therefore I opted for a Elemis Biotec Facial. I was recommended this treatment after speaking to a therapist before my spa day, who recommended a facial to help tame my rollercoaster skin. The Elemis Biotec Facial is a facial with a twist, using one of their latest machine technologies, seamlessly intertwined with hands-on therapy and powerful plant actives.

The pioneering BIOTEC machine works to switch your skin back on, increasing its natural cellular energy and promises visibly healthy, nourished and energised skin. I loved trying out something completely different during this trip, and loved finding out more information about my skin, it’s elasticity and how I could really control breakouts and acne, through light therapy and treatments. I left the treatment feeling relaxed, and my face felt incredible!

Harriet, being 8 months pregnant, opted for the Mother to be Massage. Performed on a therapy couch and adapted to each stage of pregnancy, this inspirational therapy connects mother and baby through the power of touch. It even helps to relieve tension in the back and alleviate swelling in the hands and feet; easing the mind and uplifting the spirit. It was so lovely to see Harriet post-massage, as she looked so chilled, relaxed and said it was such a lovely experience.

Overall we had such a lovely day, we swam in the indoor pool, we read a good book, Harriet did some of her hypno-birthing, I tried out some of the heat and ice experiences in the main spa, we had a quick dip in the outdoor jacuzzi, and most importantly we squeezed in a day of catching up and reminiscing before baby arrives in May.

Eden Hall’s mantra is ‘health through happiness’ and I feel like we really got to experience this ethos through every part of our visit. e felt relaxed and happy, pampered and pruned (from being in the water too long) and the spa was really one of the best I have been to!

*I was invited to visit Eden Hall Spa however all opinions are my own and I really loved this place.
