Goodbye Summer

This summer flew by at the blink of an eye. I have ended the summer having only been on an aeroplane once but having experienced one of my busiest summers yet. This summer included France, Disneyland Paris, Yorkshire, The Cotswolds, Brighton, Amsterdam, and more. I felt like I didn’t have a break from week to week, and as the end of August approached I found myself quietly delighted it was all about to calm down.

I was sent the new HP Sprocket at the beginning of summer and they asked me to capture my summer moments, before rounding them up in a post in September. So here is what I got up to…

My Birthday

I turned the ripe old age of 25 on July 19 and I celebrated with a trip to Harrogate with Theo, a BBQ with ladies from work, a trip to a spa with my best friend, and a birthday Mexican Fiesta with my family at home. I really felt like I was spoilt, and I felt very loved and grateful to all my wonderful friends and family, who were extremely kind and generous with gifts, cards and going out of their way to see me! Thank you to everyone on here too, that wished me a happy birthday – I had a wonderful week long celebration!

We headed down to Brighton for a relaxed weekend to explore one of my favourite cities, spend time outdoors and head to the outdoor cinema on the beach with Ibis hotels. We picked our film for the Sunday, and opted for Beauty and the Beast (the new one!). We arrived on the Saturday, and after checking into our room at Ibis Brighton, we headed on down to the sea front, where we grabbed an ice cream, and a beer on the beach. Read more about my trip to Brighton here.

France + Disneyland Paris

I will talk more about this in my September monthly favourites, as there is a bit of an overlap, but YES YOU KNOW, I went off to France for a week, and also visited Disneyland Paris for the day! OH MY GOD. So much to tell you, with blog posts coming soon. Buy your tickets with ATD Attractions.

Wilderness has always been on my radar – probably because of it’s link with glitter, teepees, clean eating and chilled out vibes. Come join me in this blog post for the most magical of weekends. Wilderness is unique in its approach and like no other festival I have attended. It’s a festival that focuses equally on music, as it does on gastronomy, arts and culture with an array of workshops, sessions and event on throughout the weekend. I was invited by Pimms, and then I also went for a long banquet with the lovely ladies at The Original Muck Boot Company. You can read all about my post here.

Y Spa

As an extended birthday treat I visited Y Spa in Bedfordshire with the bestie for a day of relaxation and catch ups, before she departs for South America for three months and leaves me on my own! If you are looking for a time out and a place to relax, Y Spa is the place for you. This luxurious spa is based amidst 380 acres of countryside at Wyboston Lakes Hotel. The spa is offers the latest in holistic and beauty therapy and is home to eleven treatment rooms, a Hydrotherapy Pool, Thermal Spa and two dedicated relaxation areas making it the perfect place to you to unwind. BLISS!

I headed back to my favourite city for another few days of exploration. We stayed at the wonderful Yays Oostenburgergracht, and we hired bikes. Unfortunately it did rain a lot whilst we were there, but that didn’t dampen our spirits, we grabbed our Marco Polo Travel Guide and simply headed to an array of pubs, and brewery’s! We went to our favourite pub, Brouwerij ‘t IJ, and indulged in beer and cheese, before going to Food Hallen, Gassan Diamonds tour and a trip to the Iamsterdam sign. I will be putting up my ‘Ultimate Guide to Amsterdam’ next week!

Soul Circus

I attended the wonderful 3-day festival extravaganza that is Soul Circus. The festival includes an array of classes, talks and experiences, including yoga classes, meditation sessions, wellness experiences, nutritious food and nourishing music – all housed under Cirque de Soleil-style tents in a Gloucestershire field. I attended this wonderful festival with my amazing friend Ellie, from The Wandering Quinn, and we couldn’t wait to explore, relax and indulge in an array of yoga classes over the weekend. You can read my full post about it here.

Yorkshire + Harrogate

Set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, Rudding Park is one of the most beautiful privately owned luxury hotels. Me and Theo decided to plan our visit to Rudding Park with my birthday weekend, and I was so pleased I got to spend it here. The staff really looked after us, and made it feel special. They also left a bottle of prosecco in our room on arrival, so I was sold… The hotel has also added to the plethora with a £9.5 million spa, with rooftop spa, spa garden, and leisure facilities.

Whilst I was visiting Rudding Park Hotel we also ventured out to a few local places in Yorkshire including the beautiful town of Harrogate, where we did a gin tasting afternoon with the wonderful guys from Slingsby Gin. We also stopped off at the Cow & Calf close to Ilkley for a small hike, and then on our way back we popped in to Leeds for a spot of shopping.
