Last month I was asked by Laundrapp, your local dry cleaning app, to trial their service. As a lady I don’t actually dry clean that much, usually I only get expensive dresses from Whistles dry cleaned but I knew my boyfriend would find the service really useful so I asked him if he’d like to trial the app on my behalf and get some of his shirts and ties dry cleaned at the same time.
Based out of Victoria, Laundrapp is one of London’s most exciting start-ups. Their unique app is revolutionising the laundry and dry cleaning industry across the UK and they already cover London, Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor and many, many more – but that’s just for starters!

Laundrapp provides dry cleaning direct to you door. Upon creating an account, a range of items that can be cleaned are displayed, from bedding to kilts and everything in-between. Prices for individual items are clearly displayed along with a series of special bundle offers. Upon selecting your required laundry and reviewing the cost you can proceed to select a collection time slot. Slots are available hourly and between 07:00 to 23:00 in London (excluding Saturday 08:00-18:00). Delivery times can then be selected from 48hrs of the collection time.
I selected the ‘high five’ bundle of 5 shirts for £10, tie cleaning (£5) and jumper cleaning (£7) totalling £22. Descriptions relating to the cleaning process for each item are fairly limited so I had to contact the customer support service to check exactly what was offered, (would my jumper by dry cleaned, ironed, tumble dried etc) contacting the support at 8:30 pm I expected to reselect my items and start again in the morning, however 10 minutes later all of my questions were answered.
On the day of collection I received a text from laundrapp introducing the driver and confirming the collection time. The driver arrived bang on time and my laundry was whisked off and returned again a few days later. All of the laundry was spot on and month old stains had been totally removed from the tie.
The process was very easy, and Laundrapps customer service from the support staff to the drivers did them proud. The only annoyance was the lack of information about exactly how the clothes would be cleaned, laundrapp are missing an simple information section from their website that would save a lot of fafing around and deliberating whether or not to include clothes that specify not tumble dry, dry clean only etc. I would use the service again for cleaning Items that I wasn’t able to myself e.g. a tie however unfortunately I’m not quite rich enough to justify spending £10 to have 5 shirts ironed (yet).
My boyfriend said he was really impressed! He said he felt like for something that would otherwise take precious time away from him (ironing five shirts and other items) and because of the cost, the service and the quality he would 100% be sending in another order in the very near future.
