And just like that, December was gone! And what a month it’s been….
I begun the month at Lapland UK, and ended it watching the fireworks with Arabella at home in our PJ’s. In between, there was a lot of love, laughter and lounging around. I visited Nottingham with friends for a few days of eating and drinking, before heading to Log House Holidays with my favourite blogging ladies Ellie, Sam, Liv and Kara (and it even snowed!) Have a little read of what I got up to in December…
LaplandUK – This year we were lucky enough to have been invited to Lapland UK. I have read about this magical place before, and have wanted to go for years, so I was beyond excited. Christmas is an important time of the year to me, and our families, and this was the perfect way to kick off the festive season. If you do not want to get on a plane to visit Lapland, there is a UK alternative two hours away. Tucked away in the heart of The Crown Estate in Ascot, LaplandUK is the ‘secret in the forest’ that delights both children and adults. They opened their doors once again this November for the tenth year. Get your Elf Passports at the ready, we are off to Lapland. Read my full review here.
Christmas – I spent most of the festive period off work and at home with Theo and Arabella. We watched lots of films, ate lots of chocolate and saw friends and family. It was a lovely period filled with lots of love and I am so grateful for having such a large and loving family, and friends that I know will stick by my for the rest of my life. I have started 2018 feeling extremely loved and grateful.
Nottingham Christmas Markets – Me and Theo booked two days off work at the end of the year, so we could start our festive period a little earlier than usual, and we ventured up to Nottingham for two days of drinking and eating with our neighbours. We visited Nottingham Christmas Markets and ate at some of our old stomping ground, including where we had our first date Spanky Van Dykes!
Arabella’s Nativity – This year was our first year watching Bella in her school nativity. They don’t do it in reception, but this year they included year 1. Arabella had a big part, taking on the role of Angel Gabriel. She was amazing, and we were so proud of her!
Log House Holidays – I visited Log House Holidays with a few of my favourite blogging ladies including Ellie from The Wandering Quinn, Kara from Heels in my Backpack, Sam from Yokomeshi and Liv from Liv on a Shoestring! We had been meaning to go away together for ages, and when this place appeared on our radar, we knew it was the perfect retreat for a weekend away from the chaos of London. Log House Holidays is a family run 130 acre nature reserve in the Cotswolds, offering something unique to visitors. It is a small oasis where you can escape the pressures of daily life in your own Scandinavian style log cabin. Read my review here.
Evo Wallet – After getting my iPhone 6+ last summer I had carried that thing around like my life depended on it. I was so scared of breaking it, and couldn’t bare to take it anywhere I could drop it or smash the screen. Then I came across Evo, and I read great reviews of how sturdy their wallets were. I grabbed myself The Evo Wallet, which features two concealed card slots in its folio cover, where cards are kept secure and easily accessible. The case also provides up to 3 metres/10 feet of drop protection and I also grabbed a screen protector too to stop screen smashing!
Let it Glow: A Winter’s Walk Hardcover – Set in a winter wonderland, follow one child on his journey home through a snowy landscape. Lights are revealed by die cuts throughout, becoming lit-up shop windows, carol singers’ candles, stars in the sky and finally a star on the tree. Arabella loved this book, especially through the festive season.
