As someone once said…. “winter is coming!” And as we prepare to say goodbye to summer, we say hello briefly to autumn with cold evenings, roaring fires and fluffy jumpers. I love autumn, but I constantly crave the heat of the sun on my skin, the feeling of sand between my toes and adventure. There are a few things that I do to help make the transition into Autumn/Winter a little easier.
Book another adventure
Plan a trip somewhere and give yourself something to look forward to. It doesn’t have to be somewhere warm or exotic, but an adventure on the horizon will give you some light to look forward to. Think Christmas markets in Vienna or skiing in the French Alps.
Keep the diet going
When winter nears it does become harder to get motivated for the gym, and eating healthy but if you keep it up over winter, like many don’t, you will be well on your way to that all-round summer body you worked towards in the spring.
Keep up the entertaining, indoors
Cooking is one of my favorite fall pastimes as it continues the socialising, but indoors, with good food and great company. Invite some friends over for dinner, with a film, and a glass of wine. What could be better?
Refocus your life
As autumn approaches it gives you an opportunity to focus on the goals you set yourself at the beginning of 2017. With only a few months to go why not refocus, and work towards an aesthetic, financial or work based goal. What can you do to make this your best year yet?
Look after you
Say goodbye to the long nights partying and drinking and instead opt for a bath at home, reading books by the fire, and enjoying hearty food in the comfort of your own home. Grab that hygge book out again, autumn is coming.
Tackle your to-do list
Fall is also a perfect time to wrap up projects and goals whether they be home projects or books to finish reading. There’s nothing better to ease anxiety than feeling super-productive, or at least setting your intentions in the right direction!
