Last month I ventured only 10 miles away from home to the wonderful Woburn Abbey and Gardens. Woburn Abbey is a historic house on the border of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, close to Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton. There are over 28 acres of land to explore, and although it is still a family home to the current duke, it is open on specified days to visitors, along with the diverse estate surrounding it, including the historic landscape gardens and deer park (by Humphry Repton), as well as more recently added attractions including Woburn Safari Park, a miniature railway and a garden/visitor centre.
I had just stayed that night at the boutique 4 AA star hotel, The Woburn Hotel. A stay there was exactly what I needed in the run up to Christmas; a festive weekend away exploring Woburn, Woburn Abbey and the surrounding area. Read my review here.
*Thank you to The Woburn House who invited me to stay for one night at the hotel and access to Woburn Abbey + Gardens. Of course, as always, all opinions are my own and I wanted to write about this and share my experience with you!
