ACCOMMODATION EUROPE REVIEW

Mallorca Villa: Villa Finca Son Rasca

I love a villa, maybe it’s because I was bought up with holidays in villas but I love the serenity and privacy you get on holiday when you stay in a villa as opposed to a resort.

Don’t get me wrong, resorts are brilliant if you want lots of choices, an array of activities and a variety of places to go eat and drink, but sometimes you need time to relax and that means renting a place where you can truly chill out.

My mum and I headed over to Mallorca at the end of June for a long weekend near Pollenća and Alcudia and opted for a villa so we could sit back and chill.

We opted for Villa Finca Son Rasca and booked through Travelopo, one of Europe’s biggest villa booking agencies.

Upon arrival to the villa, we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the property. It was a villa to sleep eight but instead had the two of us. That meant a bedroom each, a dressing room each and four bathrooms to choose from. The villa was probably six times the size of my flat back in the UK!

The villas was beautiful with a long road running up to the back of the villa with enough parking for up to six cars.

Once inside you were delighted by a view which stretched the entirety of the house right down to the terrace out the front of the house by the pool.

The house had two bedrooms’ downstairs, one with an ensuite and a walk in wardrobe and a kitchen to the left, living room straight ahead and bathroom and washing room to the right.

The living room was massive with a large dining table and sofa area with a TV (though we never worked out how to work the TV!) and we kind of wished they had left us a few DVDs to watch though as we didn’t bring any of our own.

The kitchen has all the usual supplies you expect from a villa with white goods, crockery and glasses, alongside cooking accessories such as pans, utensils and much more.

We had decided to cook a few times in the villa so it was really useful there being lots to use and we didn’t feel like there was anything missing that there should have been.

Me and mum both opted for bedrooms upstairs (I guess the idea of sleeping downstairs is odd to us!) and up the staircase, there were two bedrooms each with an ensuite and one with another walk-in-wardrobe.

The bedrooms were massive with lots of room and the beds were comfy!

Outside the garden was extensive with lots of open areas, a beautiful swimming pool and a BBQ area set against the open fields.

We spent the majority of our days lying on the sun loungers reading a book with a beer in hand, venturing out in the mornings for the local market or in the evening to local town Alcudia, only 5 minutes away.

It had a great location to the local towns, also only being 20 minutes from Port De Pollenca, 15 minutes from Pollenca town and 10 minutes to Port De Alcudia. And it’s only 35 mins from the airport at Palma.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Finca Son Rasca and would love to visit again sometime soon. It is the perfect location for a really relaxing holiday with lot of space for all the family.
