What have you been up to this month?
December was pretty bloomin’ busy as I am sure everyone was this month but here is what I got up to…
A Victorian Christmas at Audley End
At the end of December me and Theo visited Audley End in Essex for their Christmas extravaganza at the historic mansion on the edge of Cambridgeshire and Essex. It was a lovely day filled with lots of Christmas cheer, Santa and actors dressed in Victorian clothing.
Birmingham Christmas market
In the first weekend in December me and Theo took a trip to Birmingham to visit my Godbrother and his girlfriend. We wandered around the markets, took photos of the wheel lit up at night, bought a few little bits and a few Christmas presents and then went out for dinner at an incredible Indian restaurant on Broad Street. Birmingham really does come alive at Christmas!
Copenhagen for a long weekend
After leaving my job in November I then had three weeks between jobs to get organised but also have a little fun. I decided I would love to visit Copenhagen. I went alone but met up with my friend who lives on the border between Denmark and Sweden. We visited all the touristy spots, took lots of photos, drank lots of wine and had lot of laughs!
A very blogger Christmas
Mid-December I organised a Christmas meal with some amazing girls from a female travel blogger group I am part of on Facebook. We went for lunch at Rossopomodoro and had lots of good food with good company! I cannot wait to organise another for in the new year…
Starting a new job
The end of 2015 mean’t a new start for me, including a new job. I will also be moving to the land of roundabouts in January to live in Milton Keynes! I’ve had a great two weeks but I am so excited to get stuck in again after the new year!
This year Christmas has been super busy! I spent the run up to the holidays with Christmas dinners with friends, visiting family across the UK and meeting up with friends. I also spent a lot of time shopping attempting to get the best gifts I could for my loved ones.
All over the UK for Christmas day
I spent Christmas day in two places, I saw out Christmas morning with the boyfriend and then we visited my parents in the afternoon. It was a day filled with lots of presents, lazying about, drinking lots of wine and a huge amount of food! We had the traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, roast potatoes and trimmings… and the dreaded sprouts!
Cambridge for new year
This is still to TBC! But we’ve been invited to a party and we cannot wait to get a little tipsy and have a lil kiss at New Year!
Blog posts I’ve loved
Vicky at Flip Flop Travels published a blog post on her most recent trip to Tromso in Norway called 3 Days in Tromso: How to Have the Best Trip Ever. I loved reading about her visit and exactly what she did each day. It made for great reading about different aspects of the trip and I was super jealous by the winter wonderland.
Lydia at My Culture Craving posted a blog post this month called FESTIVE FUN IN ZURICH, SWITZERLAND. It was a wonderful little insight in to her visit to Zurich and the Christmas markets. Like my quick trip to Copenhagen Lydia got to see all the highlights of the city. Take me to Zurich now Lydia!
Neil from Backpacks and Bunkbeds published a blog post last week called My top 15 travel Instagrams from 2015. In this blog post Neil looked back across 2015 and the Instagram posts that were most liked on his account. Some of these photos are incredible and whether it was France, Slovenia, Wales, England, Italy, Denmark, The Netherlands, Ireland, France again, Wales again or Ireland again Neil knows how to travel!
