Well that’s Christmas all done and gone in such a short amount of time! Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year but every year I feel like its happened before its even begun… I spent Christmas back at home with family and friends with lots of wine, good food and time with the people I love. Did you have a wonderful time? I have been thinking about my upcoming year and thought I would jot down my guide to 2016 travel plans.
I have updated my bucket list from last year, crossed off the ones I have managed to complete over the past year and then put together below a little list of places I want to visit in 2016…
There are so many places I want to visit and obviously my full Bucket list gets longer and longer every year but so that I have some focus I decided to focus on the coming year primarily and then think about the future at a later date. After all, I work full time so I have to plan my trips well… Here is my bucket list for 2016!
The Cotswolds, UK
This place is top of my list, I have been wanting to visit for months now and I was even invited recently to stay at a cabin in the woods but I couldn’t go. I cannot wait to spend some time in the great outdoors!
Obvs. This one is a MUST! So many people are raving about Iceland and I can see why. The beauty of the place looks incredible and I know that the minute I land in Reykjavik I will fall in love. I also cannot wait to visit the Blue Lagoon and take a heli tour over some of Iceland’s incredible waterfalls.
Again, another at the top of the list is Mexico. Everything about this place makes me want to travel there, from the culture, the food, the scuba diving and the activities on offer. This may have to be out main summer holiday next year!
Me and Theo have been saying for years we want to go skiing! I went last year (2014) whilst I was travelling around New Zealand but we are both desperate to go on a ‘skiing holiday’. We are both keen skiers and I have recently learnt to snowboard so I am super keen to get out on the slopes and put my practice to good use!
Get me in those hot springs! My best friend went to Budapest this year and her photos really filled me with wanderlust. I don’t think Budapest is the most beautiful city but something attracts me there! I am also told the food there is incredible with a range of different cuisines from across the world.
With Europe’s largest shopping complex- the Metrocentre, Newcastle isn’t the most obviously break but I visited Newcastle back in 2011 and loved it. The city is so rich in culture, great bars and awesome places to visit. A weekend break is definitely needed here!
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
I have already booked this trip for March 2015 so I am planning my visit even now! I cannot wait to visit this beautiful city and of course take a photo next to the I am Amsterdam sign! Museums, art and cycling – what more could you need!
Visit 30 countries by my 30th birthday…
This one is still going strong and I am sure I will achieve my target. I am currently on 22 with the addition of Denmark this year. It’s been a pretty quiet year this year but I plan on taking a trip to some different places in the year to come!
