REVIEW: Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef with Deep Sea Divers Den

I’ll instead just quickly talk about which tour we went on, what it included and how much it cost and then speak about the experience in general. Then, scroll down and just look at how amazing it is via the photos!

Who? Deep Sea Divers Den

They have been operating on the Great Barrier Reef since 1974 and they are based in Cairns town centre near the marina. They offer a variety of trips from snorkelling, scuba diving, liveaboard trips and you can even do your PADI Dive Course with them.

Where to they go?

They go to the Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reef on the outer edge of the Barrier Reef which is approximately 70km offshore on their Sea Quest boat. They offers superb snorkelling and diving with an abundance of coral formations and marine life. You have a chance of seeing a variety of hundreds of marine life such a nemos, Turtles, Stingrays and Maori wrasse.

How long do you get to actually snorkel?deep sea 2

The super fast Sea Quest boat allows it’s divers at least four hours on the reef and they also offer free guided snorkelling tours if you would like to learn more about the marine life. Snorkelers can enjoy unlimited snorkelling at two different reef locations. Bus takes around two hours from cairns marina to the reef. So if you motion sick, stock up on the tablets as it’s rocky!
