FESTIVAL: Electric Daisy Carnival

After an incredible show that transformed the Milton Keynes Bowl into a magical wonderland, the sun has set on Electric Daisy Carnival, Milton Keynes (EDC UK) 2014.

Howard Hill - EDC-12 - newThe weekend’s magnificent show featured the world’s most iconic DJs performing across four jaw-dropping stages, never-before-seen state-of-the-art production, roaming theatrical performers and fairground rides at the Milton Keynes Bowl.

The venue in Milton Keynes was transformed into a magical space, which included the world’s largest 360 degree digital lighting installation. The immersive display incorporated the use of LED panels which totally surrounded the fans enjoying the show at the kineticFIELD stage and another stages across the site used features to work alongside the glow-in-the-dark body paint, which gave guests the opportunity to paint themselves with designs that lit up under the blue-light inside a massive tent.

EDC UK brought never-before-seen production elements to the festival, which included the largest flame units ever used in Europe. Impressive fireworks displays lit up the night sky and confetti canons showered the crowds with 440lbs of colourful confetti.

All around the arena there were unique acts including a fat buddha, a Hello Kitty character with a plastic face, people dressed like trees walking around the arena and even actors and actresses on stilts offering photo opportunities for festival goers.

The VIP/guest area was certainly nicer than some of the other festivals in the UK, with a cloakroom, beautifully cleaned toilets, a marque and performers all around the area. The VIP area was covered off from the arena and made sure you felt right at home with a huge bar that never seemed to have too much of a queue. It was certainly worth the extra money for that extra comfort and enjoyment.

The line up this year was incredible and included all of the well known respected DJ’s from across the world including Avicii, Calvin Harris, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, Martin Garrix, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Marco Carola, Dubfire, Timo Maas, Nick Curly, Miguel Campbell and Route 94.

It is certain that Electric Daisy Carnival offered a unique experience for every headliner to enjoy. Fans joined in the EDC spirit, creating their own beautifully crafted costumes, which included bright colours and flowers. An experience to remember forever, Electric Daisy Carnival UK is the very best of days. As the sun sets on EDC’s second UK experience, we can’t say goodbye without thanking all the excited fans whose positive energy helped make this festival safe and successful.

Howard Hill - EDC-1 - NEWOverall, EDC was a ball. The day festival oozed the American lifestyle and uniqueness, which ultimately made the festival come alive, both in the day and at night.
